Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Ingell Pottery, Taunton, MA, second quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated on one side with a brushed flower within a wreath, the reverse with a freehand cobalt "20" surrounded by flourishes. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Significant network of surface lines throughout bottom half of jar, not visible on interior. An additional tight 4" line near shoulder area on side of jar, not visible on interior. A small in-the-firing base chip. Other minor post-firing base chips.
