Two Pieces of Huntington, Long Island, NY Stoneware, circa 1854-1870, a two-gallon ovoid jar with cobalt decoration of two flowers, stamped "F.J. CAIRE & CO. / Huntington / L.I."; paired with a three-gallon semi-ovoid jar with curved-stem floral motif, stamped "BROWN BROS / HUNTINGTON.L.I". Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. Caire jar in very nice condition with some staining to surface and surface some in-the-firing contact marks to base. Brown Bros. jar in excellent condition with a minor chip on interior of rim, a minor in-the-firing base chip, and two in-the-firing iron pings to surface.
