Two Brown Brothers, Huntington, Long Island, NY Stoneware Churns, circa 1863-1885, a four-gallon example featuring three flowers connected to a central stem, stamped "BROWN BROTHERS / HUNTINGTON / L.I."; paired with a two-gallon churn, decorated with two flowers. Cobalt highlights to maker's marks. Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. Two-gallon churn in excellent, essentially as-made condition with two short, minor surface lines to side. Four-gallon churn with professionally-restored crack on underside, extending onto reverse, a short unrestored crack at base on front, and restored chips to interior of rim.
