Two Pieces of Manhattan, NY Stoneware, third quarter 19th century, circa 1845-1870, a cylindrical, handled jar with brushed design of a flowering plant bearing two blossoms, stamped "WM-A' MACQUOID & CO / NEW-YORK / LITTLE WST 12TH ST.", Manhattan, NY origin; paired with a one-gallon advertising jug with slip-trailed spotted floral motif, stamped "J & JF TRIPP / DRUGGISTS 90 & 92 MAIDENLANE", attributed to the Hudson River Pottery. Jar with spider crack to base area, extending onto underside, a 2 1/2" crack from rim on reverse, rim chips, and staining. Jug with a 2 1/4" line to shoulder area and some discoloration to surface.
