One-Gallon Tankard-Form Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to Somerset Potters Works, Somerset, MA, circa 1875, tapered pitcher with tooled shoulder and pronounced rim with tooled accents, the front decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of two crossed leaves accented with slip-trailed flourishes. Decorated above with additional slip-trailed flourishes to the shoulder and rim. Network of hairlines on underside, one of which continues 2 3/4" up base of pitcher. Small rim chips. A tiny spout nick. Some staining. Exfoliation to Albany slip on interior base.
