Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Mid-Atlantic origin, circa 1860-1875, a six-gallon cylindrical jar, stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO, PA." with stenciled pinwheel motif and freehand stripes; paired with a swag-decorated lid, Baltimore, MD origin. Jar with large 3 1/4" x 1 1/4" flake to underside at edge and two chips to one handle. Lid with restoration to flange on underside, salt drips on underside, an in-the-firing line to underside, a small in-the-firing chip with salt drip to edge, and small chips to knob.
