Scarce Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Flatwoods, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with recessed wax sealer rim, the front featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "Murphy & Towsend / Flatwoods, Pa.". Rim chips and chips to inner wax sealer rim. Side of jar with inverted 2 5/8" Y-shaped hairline. An in-the-firing ping to base on front. H 6 3/8".
