Two One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs, New York State origin, third quarter 19th century, a syrup jug, decorated with three tulips emanating from a central stem, stamped "PORTER & FRASER. / WEST TROY, N.Y."; paired with a jug featuring a stylized, slip-trailed floral motif, stamped "HAXSTUN, OTTMAN & CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.". Porter & Fraser jug in essentially as-made condition with some fry to cobalt and some small in-the-firing surface flaws. Haxstun, Ottman & Co. jug with some exfoliation to bottom edge on reverse.
