Two Western PA Stoneware Jars, circa 1860-1875, a three-gallon ovoid jar, impressed "HAMILTON / & CO. / Greensboro / PA." attributed to William Leet Hamilton, Greensboro, PA, circa 1860; paired with a four-gallon jar with stenciled and freehand cobalt decoration, stenciled "JAMES HAMILTON & CO. / GREENSBORO. / PA.", circa 1875. Hamilton & Co. jar with glued crack around entire base, a crack from rim to midsection on stamped side, and a glazed-over gash to shoulder on opposite side. James Hamilton jar with spider crack in underside, extending diagonally up body of jar to stenciled design on front, as well as a 2 3/4" in-the-firing, glazed-over loss to base.
