Two "WILLIAMS & REPPERT / GREENSBORO, PA" Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Decoration, circa 1885, both of two-gallon size and cylindrical form, featuring Williams & Reppert maker's stenciling, freehand stripes, a freehand "2" with flourishes at base, and different stenciled designs at the center. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market lot, from a long-term private collection. One with oversalting to reverse, some in-the-firing flakes near base on reverse, two in-the-firing base chips, and some light fry to cobalt. Other jar with fry to cobalt and a small piece of adhered clay to reverse.
