Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs, Stamped "LEWIS & GARDINER / HUNTINGTON, L.I.", New York State origin, circa 1827-1829, a one-gallon jug with abstract cobalt brushwork below maker's mark and highlighting handle terminals and maker's mark, paired with a three-gallon jug with cobalt-highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. One-gallon jug with light wear to surface, in otherwise excellent condition. Three-gallon jug with a few minor base and spout chips and a 1 1/2" in-the-firing chip/contact mark to shoulder area.
