Two Stoneware Syrup Jugs, VT and NY State origin, circa 1870, a one-gallon Albany-slip-glazed jug, stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT"; paired with a two-gallon salt-glazed jug, stamped "N. CLARK, JR. / ATHENS, NY". Provenance: Property of a New York State collector. Norton jug with two rim chips, a spout chip, and a minor chip on underside at edge. Clark jug with chipping to rim, a band of residue around base, two salt drips, a short line at base, a small base chip, and a 1 1/8" in-the-firing contact mark to front.
