One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "N. WHITE & CO. / BINGHAMTON, NY", circa 1866-1868, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with turned head and spotted body, perched on a vine. Light cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Two horizontal cracks through handle near its lower terminal. An in-the-firing separation to underside of upper handle terminal. A long in-the-firing line at base, which is glazed over. A tight spider line to shoulder.
