Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / NEW-YORK", Manhattan, NY origin, circa 1825, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed cobalt drape motif and along the handles with cobalt highlights. Provenance: Robert Meltzer Collection. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a shallow 1 1/4" in-the-firing flake to base.
