Early-Period Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug, Signed "Lanier Meaders", Cleveland, GA origin, circa 1965, squat-shaped jug with applied clay face including bulging, glazed eyes with black pupils, a pointed nose, wavy ears, and an open mouth, formed without teeth. Surface covered in an olive-colored alkaline glaze. Underside incised "Lanier Meaders". Handle broken into three pieces and reglued. Otherwise excellent condition. H 8 1/2".
