Framed Ballard & Brothers, Burlington, VT Stoneware Price List, Dated Sept. 20, 1853, with header featuring a lidded urn, which reads "BALLARD & BROTHERS / MANUFACTURERS AND WHOLESALE DEALERS IN/ STONE AND FANCY WARE." List includes images of various forms, decorated with bird and floral motifs. Interestingly, this price list was made with the printed heading, "BALLARD, BROTHERS, & CO.". To indicate a change in ownership, the firm name was altered with a pen to read, "BALLARD & BROTHERS". Base with ink notation from the pottery, signed "Yours Truly / Ballard & Brothers". Included in a black frame with matting. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a long-term private collection. Exhibited at the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum, Williamsburg, VA. With some creases and period pen and pencil notations. Framed Dimensions: 19" x 14".
