Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Floral Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1870, ovoid jar with footed base, flared collar, and ribbed handles, decorated on front and reverse with two large tulips. Handle terminals decorated with cobalt highlights and a line of cobalt underneath each handle. A 4 1/2" crack from rim. A 1 1/8" chip to exterior of rim, a few firing flaws and minor chips to interior of rim, and small base chips.
