Two Pieces of Western PA Stoneware, circa 1875-1880, a canning jar with stenciled flourish, featuring the stenciled cobalt signature, "JAMES HAMILTON & CO. / MANUFACTURERS. / GREENSBORO. PA."; paired with a one-gallon jar with stenciled foliate motif, stenciled "T.F. REPPERT. / GREENSBORO. / PA.". Canning jar with traces of red paint to surface, as well as a small chip and minor nicks to inner wax sealer rim. Other jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (of canning jar) 9 3/4".
