Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK & Co / ROCHESTER .N. Y", circa 1845, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with an artistic slip-trailed design of a tulip with shaded leaves and dashed blossom. Slip-trailed "2" at shoulder. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. A tiny hole to shoulder on reverse. A shallow flake to top of spout. Some traces of old red paint to surface.
