Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "F. STETZENMEYER. &. CO. / ROCHESTER, N.Y.", circa 1855, ovoid jug with tapered spout, decorated with a large and artistic slip-trailed design of a tulip blossom emanating from a leafy stem. Slip-trailed "2" to shoulder. Provenance: Robert Meltzer Collection. Large network of tight cracks to shoulder of left side of jug, extending onto left side of jug's front. An in-the-firing contact mark to top of spout and handle.
