Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "RICHEY & HAMILTON / PALATINE. / W.VA.", circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and rounded wax sealer rim, decorated with freehand cobalt stripes, along with Richey & Hamilton maker's stenciling surrounding a stylized foliate motif. Some light surface wear and traces of paint to surface. A few small chips to inner wax sealer rim. A small chip to inner edge of outer rim. H 10 1/2".
