Rare Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Canning Jar, Stamped "LEITZINGER, / Clearfield, Pa", circa 1851-1879, semi-ovoid jar with narrow, flared collar, the surface covered in a dark-brown Albany slip glaze. Impressed on the underside with the rare maker's mark of Swiss immigrant potter, Frederick Leitzinger, active in the town of Clearfield in Clearfield County, PA, circa 1851-1879. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 10 1/2".
