Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stamped "BOSTON", Frederick Carpenter, MA origin, early 19th century, ovoid jar with open loop handles, tooling to shoulder and rim, and footed base, the rim and handles with partial iron-oxide wash. A glazed-over dent to handle and rim. A 6 1/4" crack from rim on front. A 4 1/2" hairline on underside, continuing 4 1/2" up front of jar where it forms a Y. Old paint and crayon numbers on underside.
