Scarce Slip-Decorated Redware Plate, Inscribed "United," Norwalk, CT origin, mid 19th century, with coggled edge, the interior decorated with the yellow slip inscription "United" between two looping slip lines. A fine example of Norwalk, Connecticut redware, with slip decoration surviving in excellent condition. Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. Very nice condition overall. A few rim chips, minor wear to interior, and minor staining to interior. Diameter 11 7/8".
