Scarce Diminutive Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Mid-Atlantic origin, third quarter 19th century, squat-shaped pitcher with footed base and tall flaring collar, decorated with an abstract foliate spray on the front. Swag decoration flanking spout. Interior of rim decorated with vertical cobalt stripes. Cobalt highlights to top of rim, along handle, and surrounding handle terminals. Excellent size and form. Excellent condition with a 1 3/4" surface line on underside, not visible on interior. H 4".
