Rare Miniature Stoneware Spittoon with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Inscribed "W. Garner / 1876", Mid-Atlantic origin, 1876, with coved sides, footed base, and oval opening at shoulder, decorated around the body with a series of brushed leaves. Cobalt band to rim and base. Base incised with the cobalt-highlighted name, "W. Garner". Underside incised "1876".Exceptional size. Excellent condition with a minor chip to rim, possibly in-the-firing. H 2" ; Diameter 3 3/4".
