Three-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Grapes Decoration, Stamped "O.L. & A.K. BALLARD / BURLINGTON, VT", circa 1865, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a large brushed design featuring two clusters of grapes hanging from a leafy vine. Bubbling to cobalt. A 3" Y-shaped line to reverse. A 2" Y-shaped line to right side of churn. Some shallow chipping to inner rim for lid. A small chip to interior of rim. Some staining to surface.
