Three-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "O.L. & A.K. BALLARD, / BURLINGTON, VT.", circa 1860, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a flowering vine, executed in vibrant cobalt slip. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Includes wooden dasher and original Albany-slip-glazed lid. Excellent condition with some minor wear to inner rim for lid. Lid in excellent condition. H (excluding lid) 15 1/4".
