Rare Stoneware Ewer with Cobalt Grapes Decoration, attributed to William Macquoid, New York, New York, circa 1870, ovoid form with applied handle and tall, narrow pouring spout accented with tooled lines, decorated on the front with a brushed cluster of grapes hanging from a stem with leaves and corkscrewing vines. Cobalt highlights to incised bands on neck. Exceptional form and unusual decoration. A 1 1/4" salt drip to reverse. A minor base chip. Three rim chips. Chips to spout. H 13 1/4".
