Unusual Large-Sized Redware Flowerpot with Saucer, Pennsylvania origin, circa 1880, of unusual, bowl-shaped form with tapered body, heavy rim, and original drain hole in underside, the surface decorated with large stripes of sponged manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Includes original manganese-decorated saucer. Flowerpot with a 2" chipped section to interior of rim, a few minor rim chips, and a 1 3/4" stone ping to interior. A 2" glazed-over dent to base and a small area of old white paint to shoulder. Saucer with heavy exfoliation to interior and a 1 1/2" chip to rim. H (of flowerpot) 6 1/2" ; Diameter (of flowerpot) 12 3/4". H (of flowerpot including saucer) 7 1/4".
