Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES. / GREENSBORO. / PA.", circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring an unusual geometric design between Hamilton & Jones maker's stenciling, stenciled foliate motifs, freehand stripes, and a freehand "2" at base. A 1 1/4" x 3/4" base chip and a minor base nick. Otherwise excellent condition.
