Two Stoneware Jars, Stenciled "JAS. HAMILTON & CO. / GREENSBORO, PA.", circa 1875, a one-gallon jar with cobalt stripes above and below James Hamilton maker's stenciling, paired with a one-and-a-half-gallon jar with James Hamilton maker's stenciling above the stenciled gallonage "1 1/2". One-gallon jar with blurriness to stenciling and tight cracks in underside, forming a long crack on right side of jar. Other jar with a chip and a few minor nicks on interior of rim, some blurriness to stenciling, light wear to surface, a glazed-over scrape near base, and a minor, and a minor, in-the-firing chipped section to underside at edge.
