One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Beaver, PA origin, circa 1865, ovoid jug with tall spout, decorated with two brushed foliate design at the shoulder and a large cobalt highlight to the lower handle terminal. An in-the-firing spout chip and a post-firing spout chip. Some bubbling to cobalt. A 4 1/4" vertical hairline extending from base. A stone ping to front.
