Small-Sized Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "From / James Hamilton & Co. / Greensboro, Pa.", circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded wax sealer rim, featuring the stenciled cobalt inscription, "From / James Hamilton & Co. / Greensboro, Pa.", underscored by freehand stripes. Stylized stenciled foliate motif above and below. Freehand stripes below rim. In-the-firing flaw near base on front. Two base chips, a minor base nick, and a shallow area of in-the-firing wear to base, and a chip to interior of rim. H 6 5/8".
