Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "Superior", attributed to A.P. Donaghho, Parkersburg, WV, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled inscription, "Superior", within a banner. Stenciled below with the number 2" with a sunburst border, flanked by stars. An in-the-firing piece of clay adhered to side. Two in-the-firing chips / contact marks to surface. A shallow rim chip.
