Eight-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Churn, Stenciled "EXCELSIOR POTTERY / A.P. DONAGHHO / Parkersburg, W.Va.", circa 1880, cylindrical churn with tall collar and applied lug handles, featuring the stenciled signature, "EXCELSIOR POTTERY / A.P. DONAGHHO / Parkersburg, W.Va.", interspersed with geometric banding, surmounted by a rising sun motif. Base with stenciled "8" surrounded by a circle, flanked by pointed embellishments. A 1 1/4" flake to interior of rim and a 1" handle chip. Otherwise excellent condition. H 20 3/4".
