Very Rare Miniature Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1850, highly-ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with a leafy vine extending around the midsection. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Cobalt-decorated stoneware jugs produced in Baltimore are considered exceptionally rare. The rarity of this example is compounded by its diminutive size. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 4 1/2".
