Two-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, cylindrical cooler with tooled shoulder, squared rim, applied tab handles, and large circular bunghole, decorated on the front and reverse with two conjoined tulips. Curved cobalt line decoration under each handle. Cobalt highlights to bunghole and handle terminals. A 7/8" stone ping on interior of rim. Shallow chipping to rim. Base chips. Two small chips to right handle. A minor glazed-over chip to bunghole. A faint 3 1/4" surface line to reverse, not visible on interior.
