Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Flower Basket Decoration, Stamped "FORT EDWARD POTTERY CO.", New York State origin, circa 1859, large-sized, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with an elaborate slip-trailed design of a floral spray emanating from a flower basket. Slip-trailed "6" at shoulder. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Excellent overall condition with some water glass staining (primarily to interior), two minor chips on interior of rim, an iron spot at base, an in-the-firing chip to interior, and a chip to right handle. H 13 1/2".
