Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird-on-Stump Decoration, Stamped "OTTMAN BRO'S / & CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.", circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a stump. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Rim chips. Chips to one handle. A 4" x 2 1/4" area of old paint to shoulder on reverse, evidently unrelated to any repair.
