Six-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "SATTERLEE & MORY / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.", circa 1865, large-sized, cylindrical jug-form cooler with circular bunghole, squared spout, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a leaf. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Desirable form and size. Excellent overall condition with a minor spout nick, a minor chip and shallow glazed-over dent to bunghole, the reverse side with a salt drip and some staining. H 20 1/2".
