Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug, Signed "Lanier Meaders", Cleveland, GA origin, circa 1980, ovoid jug with applied smiling face including kaolin eyes and hand-modeled eyelashes along bottom edge of eyes. Surface covered in a dark, streaky alkaline glaze. Incised on underside "Lanier Meaders" on underside. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a series of shallow in-the-firing contact marks around base. H 10 1/2".
