Unusual Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Birdhouse, American, possibly Southern U.S., 19th century, beehive-form with tooled banding to shoulder, stepped finial, and carved opening at base. Two vent or perch holes to shoulder. Original hanging hole on reverse. Includes long hand-forged nail. A 7/8" chip adjacent to the original hole on reverse. Two small flakes on the underside, which appear to be in-the-firing. H 7 1/2".
