Scarce Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "N. WHITE & CO BINGHAMTON", New York State origin, 1866-1868, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, semi-squared rim, and lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with turned head and spotted body, perched on a flowering vine. Provenance: David Musser Collection. An approximately 1 1/8" iron ping to right of maker's mark. A glazed-over handle chip. Some staining to surface. Some fry to cobalt.
