Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. BURGER, JR. / ROCHESTER. N.Y.", circa 1880, cylindrical jar with flared rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a flower with shaded petals and leaves. Slip-trailed number 2 at shoulder. Brushed cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Restoration to rim on front. A restored rim chip on reverse. Two additional minor rim chips and minor chipping to interior where a lid would rest. Some small spots of fry to cobalt.
