Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Cherries Decoration, Stamped "F.H. COWDEN / HARRISBURG", circa 1880, cylindrical jar with flared collar and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of a leafy branch bearing three cherries. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Provenance; David Musser Collection. A 1 3/4" x `1 3/4" glazed-over base chip on side of jar. A 1 1/4" salt drip on side of jar. A few rim chips. A handle chip. Some fry to cobalt.
