Sewertile Federal Eagle Plaque, Incised "EJE", Edward J. Ellwood, Tuscawaras County, OH, mid 20th century, molded figure of a spread-winged eagle with fine feather detail, clutching bound bunches of a olive branches. Incised "EJE" on reverse. Provenance: From a recently-surfaced collection of sewertile amassed during the 1960s and 1970s, many purchased directly from the potters themselves. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. W 4 3/4" ; H 4 3/4".
