One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "CORTLAND", Madison Woodruff and Romanzo Smith, Cortland, New York, circa 1867-1869, squat-shaped, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and flared collar, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of two tulips emanating from a stem with spotted leaves. Provenance: David Musser Collection. Excellent condition with a faint 1 1/4" surface line on reverse near base, not visible on interior.
