One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Henry Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1840, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and rounded rim, decorated around the shoulder area with a brushed stem bearing fan-shaped flower blossoms. Good decoration and color. A cross-shaped hairline on underside, extending 1" onto base. A 4" sealed, Y-shaped surface near base. Some in-the-firing crazing to surface, primarily to base area. A 3" cross-shaped line on underside, not visible on interior. A very faint 2 1/4" line on underside, not visible on interior.
