Rare Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Canning Jar, Stamped "FR. LEITZINGER / CLEARFIELD PA", circa 1851-1879, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and narrow, flared mouth, the surface covered in a chocolate-brown Albany slip glaze. Impressed at the base with the rare maker's mark of Swiss immigrant potter, Frederick Leitzinger, active in the town of Clearfield in Clearfield County, PA, circa 1851-1879. Excellent condition with a small base chip. H 9".
